September is Suicide Awareness Month, and Vets4Warriors is proud to keep supporting service members, veterans, and their families with our 24/7 peer support. We’re close to making 1 million contacts, each one a chance to help someone through a tough time. In this follow-up to our recent post, we want to share how our partnerships with other organizations make our work even stronger. These groups help us reach more people, provide the right support, and save lives through our veteran-led peer support.
Teaming Up for Support
No one organization can tackle mental health and suicide prevention alone. That’s why Vets4Warriors works with trusted groups like Stop Soldier Suicide (ROGER), Wounded Warrior Project, Face the Fight, and the Veterans Crisis Line. Together, we make sure veterans and service members, and their families, get the help they need, when they need it. Each partner brings something special, and our peer support specialists, veterans themselves, serve as the first point of contact – offering empathetic and confidential guidance while navigating callers to the right resources.
In 2024, Vets4Warriors received a transformative $1 million grant from Face the Fight, a coalition launched by USAA, Reach Resilience, and the Humana Foundation to reduce veteran suicide through charitable giving, public education, and awareness. This significant support is empowering Vets4Warriors to expand its 24/7 peer support network, reaching more veterans, service members, and their families in areas with high suicide rates and limited resources.
By collaborating with Face the Fight, Vets4Warriors is scaling its capabilities to provide confidential, veteran-led support, connecting with individuals before challenges escalate into crises. As Major General Mark Graham, Executive Director of Vets4Warriors, stated, “Our efforts in these first 13 years have helped us achieve more than 900,000 contacts with the brave men and women who have served our country. This support from Face the Fight will help us support many more veterans and their families in the years to come.”
Building on this collaboration, Vets4Warriors continues to work hand-in-hand with a network of trusted organizations to ensure comprehensive support for the military community. If you or someone you care about needs resources, all the organizations below are members of our military community and our national resource network. You can trust them to respect your privacy and maintain your confidentiality.
