An Army Veteran’s Story – Help with tough choices

An Army Veteran received the Vets4Warriors information from Military One Source.  The Veteran was looking for an unbiased ear and spoke of her relationship with a boyfriend which was not exclusive until he found that she was talking to another man. At that time, she cut off all communication with the other man and their relationship turned into a committed one. The veteran became pregnant and felt this was a gift as she had never been able to get pregnant before. Her boyfriend was not happy about this as he already had two children and felt framed and wanted her to terminate the pregnancy. The peer reminded her that it is her body, and her choice noting her age and the difficulty she had in the past. The peer advised that she needs to know what she really wants and to make a choice she can live with.  After their conversation, she felt relieved and thanked the peer for being there and for the support she received.
