Just like that, 2018 is coming to an end. Our staff helped more than 5,000 veterans, service members, their families and caregivers across the country this year. Vets4Warriors’ collaborations resulted in more callers reaching out to speak with one of our veteran peers live, and we thank them for the trust and confidence in the work we do every day and night. We are humbled to be a part of the community of organizations dedicated to take the journey together.

Support from the State of New Jersey and sponsors like USAA, Prudential, the Bob Woodruff Foundation, Sanofi, DAV Charitable Service Trust, AT&T and other individuals continues to make the growth of Vets4Warriors possible. This public-private non-profit partnership continues to grow to meet the needs of so many others who have served by supporting our efforts to provide peer support and resource connection services 24/7. Together, we can provide near-term support and generate long-term solutions to challenges faced by our national military community.

Our relationship with the Cohen Veterans Network (CVN), who provides mental health care to post 9/11 veterans and their families, continues to grow and we are honored to be a part of their team. They continue to open new clinics across the nation ensuring easy access and quality care. We are also thankful for our partnerships with America’s Warrior Partnership and Institute for Veterans and Military Families and look forward to continue to grow with them in 2019.

We continue to send materials across the world, please visit our website to order your free materials today. We have also attended several events throughout the United States to share more information about Vets4Warriors and more than 150 ‘Ambassadors’ are now spreading the word as well.

We have also conducted some unique events during the year that helped raise awareness about Vets4Warriors’ services to more individuals in the veteran and military community. While our peers and ambassadors continued to spread the word about our 24/7, confidential peer support program across the nation, we want to highlight a few events that stood out to us:

  1. Our first webinar, sponsored by AT&T
On March 22, 2018, we hosted our first webinar for service members, veterans and military spouses, focused on military employment and retention, supported by our sponsor, AT&T. Anyone in the veteran and military community was welcome to attend, and we covered various topics, including salary negotiation, understanding a company culture, benefits package, affinity groups, entrepreneurship and more!
  2. Vets4Warriors and STEM 5k
Vets4Warriors teamed up with STEM Veterans USA at Rutgers University to host a 5k Run and Walk on April 22, 2018 to kick off Rutgers Week. The successful event helped create awareness of the support Vets4Warriors provides to the military and veteran communities. You can see the winners from the 5k here.
  3. We hosted a peer support resource workshop
On November 1, 2018, Vets4Warriors hosted a Peer Support Resource Workshop at Dave and Buster’s in Woodbridge, NJ. Thanks to our sponsor, AT&T, many were able to gather around for family time while getting to know the staff outside of the call center. At this workshop, attendees had the opportunity to learn about peer support, resource connection, trusted solutions, the ambassador program, and had to chance to connect with others in the veteran and military community.

We also want to give a huge shout-out to small businesses that continued to support our work over the past year, including Organic Communications and ScoutComms. They help run our website and social media, and help us spread the word about our services across the country.

December 13, 2018 also marked Vets4Warriors’ seventh anniversary! Please continue to share our information with others or consider becoming an ambassador, spreading the word about our services to everyone in the military and veteran community, all generations, from a service member to a caregiver.  We are here 24/7 for you or someone you know.
